Legal State Requirements
There are a few state laws that can affect which policy you obtain. It’s necessary and crucial for all businesses in the state to carry general liability insurance as well as professional liability insurance. It is state law for all businesses to carry worker’s compensation insurance for all of their employees. If you own a company vehicle, it is also Minnesota state law for all business-owned vehicles to be covered by commercial auto insurance. Businesses must carry at least $30,000 per person for bodily injury, $10,000 per accident for property damage, and $25,000 per person for uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage.
